Students problem

I donno this is the how many times I am thinking about this but there simply no solution that's coming to me... I have this primary 3 boy who I am teaching... He is just a little different from normal kids... He is very active, very bubbly, and is interested in all other stuffs except schoolwork... Everytime I have lesson with him, he will be telling me about the lastest book that he is reading... I have already heard about fighter jets, aircraft carriers, dogs, robots, and blah blah blah... He can even tell me the specifics of these machines... and he will be running around his house bringing things to show me... I must admit that this boy is talented... a gem... but i just can't think of a way to use his talents and the things he is interested in to help him do his problem sums and compositions properly... yar... know what I mean? actually, I think most of the time he knows how to do but he just can't sit down and concentrate for 1 min... It will be a miracle already... I've tried many different ways to get him interested but they don't last more than 30 seconds... and before you know it, he will be getting another of his plane to show you... or another of his "invention" for that matter... hmmm... I suppose this is a good problem... :)
